The Moritheil Review began as an attempt to inject a little humor into the stress-filled drama that often occurs on Twitter and in the otaku blogosphere in general. If there’s anything that anime bloggers have in common, it’s the ability to take their opinions – and occasionally, themselves – very seriously. This is great when it leads to well-written reviews; it is perhaps not so great when it leads to dorama.
After a time it became evident that there were a number of other uses for a metablog. Issues involving law, ethics, politics, and race produce a great deal of dorama without necessarily lending themselves to a humorous response. As such, The Moritheil Review now provides commentary in addition to humor.
